I don't know about you, but I need checklists to help me stay organized. I use checklists for my grocery shopping, my food storage, my emergency supplies, as well as my daily "to do" lists. Yes, I forget things so lists help my feeble mind remember.
That's why I've made some checklists for you. (I'm not implying you are as forgetful as I am, but should you need them . . .) Below are links to the available checklists that will hopefully help you as you take inventory of your supplies and purchase what you need for your family survival planning.
Most of these files are in PDF format - one is a writeable Excel file (with formulas) for those of you who love to keep track on your computer. You may need to right-click and "save page" on your computer, or you may be able to click on the link to open the PDF files in Adobe and then save on your computer. If you do not have Adobe Reader on your computer, click on the Get Adobe Reader button. The software is free.
When new checklists are uploaded, I will announce it in our monthly newsletter, Family Survival Planning Alert, so please sign up here if you haven't already.

Gather your family together to fill in this form so that everyone knows who to call, where to call, and where to meet in case of an emergency. The Excel format can be filled out on your computer and then printed.
This is great information produced by FEMA. It overlaps some other checklists but is an overall list of what to do in case of emergencies. It has a list of disaster supplies (like the 72-hour kit); a list of things you need to find out about your community emergency preparedness; how to prepare an escape plan for your home with a page to draw your floor plan; a list for a car emergency kit; how to hazard check your home; and a list of fire safety items.

This Excel spreadsheet contains a calculator that will help you assess how much food is needed for your family. Included are worksheets to use for your shopping list, as well as inventory sheets to keep in the location of your food storage so you will know at all times what, where, and how much you have accumulated.

I know that we all plan in different ways. Some can just make their own lists and get it done. Others like prepared checklists where you can just fill in the blanks or check off items as you acquire them or pack them in your kits.
The goal either way is to complete your family survival plans and assemble all the supplies needed for your families.
So if these checklists work for you, I am happy to provide them. I know they have worked for me. I'm constantly adding to my supplies and having these emergency preparedness checklists handy in my emergency planner has made the process more organized. It is satisfying to me to be able to check off an item, knowing that I am just a bit more prepared for any crisis.
