Used the FoodSaver to Vacuum Seal

Can you dehydrate fruits and veggies and vacuum seal in FoodSaver bags? And how long do they last?

RESPONSE:

Now you're talking. ;-)

Yes, you can. I dehydrated peaches, strawberries, mango, pineapple, apples, apricots, pears, broccoli, cauliflower, yellow squash, tomatoes, red and yellow peppers, mushrooms . . . and I can't remember what else . . . all this summer.

If all foods are dried until they snap when you break them, they will store for years vacuum sealed. I did some that were very dry (snapped). Some I left a bit more pliable - those we ate for snacks - didn't last long either.
