I know it's sometimes (or maybe most times) overwhelming to work, raise a family, care for a home and all your possessions, make sure everyone is happy and healthy, AND on top of it all, prepare for any crisis that may come up in the future.
We plan for vacations. We plan our education and careers. We plan our daily meals. But adding survival planning on top of all that — including food storage, a place to put it, what to store, and all the details it takes to make it happen — well, it can be just too much to think about!
But a crisis of any type rarely announces ahead of time that it's going to "rain on your parade", does it?
I try to provide information on this web site and in the Family Survival Planning Alert that will be helpful to all of us (including me, because I'm still working on my survival/emergency planning too!) who are working toward self-sufficiency - two year's worth, three month's worth, or even just a week's worth of food and supplies in case of an emergency. I always hope you find each issue helpful and interesting . . . and I hope you find the information you need on this site.
To be honest, it seems to have taken me quite a long time to reach this Ah Ha! moment. (I do sincerely apologize for that by the way.)
Well, it finally hit me! (It took me long enough didn't it?) It's time to stop just hoping, because . . .
My readers will tell me!
Honestly, I should have asked you to share your thoughts, ideas, suggestions, and questions on survival planning a long time ago. Then I wouldn't have had to hope that I've covered topics that you are curious about. (I've already given myself several dope slaps over this!)
It's such a simple resolution!
I can't tell you how much I am looking forward to writing articles on your suggestions and including them in the monthly newsletters.
And who knows, when you comment on any of the topics that others have suggested (and I hope you do!) your experiences (the good, the bad and the ugly), suggestions, and advice may be published in the newsletter as well as on this site!
I'd love to hear your thoughts. Just a paragraph or two or more — whatever you're comfortable with and are willing to share. I sincerely appreciate your help and am looking forward to your contributions.
