Can you put cooking oil in a dark glass bottle and pour melted wax over the top to seal it from air as a way to prolong shelf life?
RESPONSE:
I don't know for sure - I only know that oil becomes rancid after a while. Only coconut oil will not become rancid. Please read more about storing fats and oil here.
What would prevent the melted wax, when it hardens, from sinking into the oil? I can't imagine wax would properly seal the oil.
