Take a piece of paper, or download our FREE Planning & Inventory Chart. Make three columns with these headings:

I Have (what I currently have reserved)

I Need (What I feel is vital, that I am lacking)

I plan to (what I plan to do within the next 6 months-year to improve my preparedness).

This should be an ongoing focus: the planning and acquisition of food, water, warm clothing/bedding, fuel, and, if you're paying attention to the economic conditions recently, cash on hand.

Here are some examples of what your will write on your survival supplies inventory sheet:

What do you have?

  • Several different kinds of veggies for one meal per day for a year.
  • Enough ingredients to make one loaf of bread for one year.
  • Peanut butter and jelly for lunches
  • Oatmeal for breakfast
  • Dry milk
  • Dry eggs
  • Coffee and tea
  • Water filters/water storage
  • Rice and beans
  • Pasta
  • Tomato sauces (canned).
  • Various canned meats (hot dogs, chicken, pork roast, etc).

 

What do you need?

 

After taking inventory, make a plan for improve over the next 6 months:

Gather your family together and have party - a survival supplies inventory party! Assess what you need then plan how to acquire the items - a few at a time or a bulk purchase. Just do it!
